a couple days ago, my long distance friend nicholle of nicholle goodnight photography asked if i would do a 52 week project with her. one image every friday. we would rotate weekly deciding the theme. and it could be interpreted however we’d like. we would each post each others image with our own on our blogs. well heck yeah. i love following projects like these from some of my favorite photogs. 365 day, 52 week, 12 month, 10 on 10. i just love them. i am the world’s worst at taking pictures and never doing anything with them if i am not being held accountable. so i am super excited about this project. it is merely to keep us creative. push each other. hold each other accountable:) each friday we will announce the next week’s theme. we would love for anyone who wants to join us, to do so at any time. take a picture with your phone, point and shoot, dSLR…doesn’t matter! (think i’ve got mr. wilson convinced to start next week) just email your image to me…brandy@asparagusstudio.com…i will give you credit (and/or watermark it yourself) and post it on friday.
this week nicholle chose the theme. Feather. i knew immediately that i was not going to be about to interpret this any way other than literally. finding a feather in our house was no difficult task. a few weeks ago, mr. wilson decided to take his “big” coat out of the closet and wash it for the cold days ahead. it’s a big puffy down coat. welp, the washing machine ate it. the zipper got caught behind the drum and nearly ripped it in half. besides the fact that this sucks because it was a nice coat, i am still finding feathers floating around whenever i sweep the house. those boogers are hard to get rid of! so with this project there is a very thin silver lining to the situation right? he probably doesn’t think so, but whatever… i knew i wanted to catch the feather floating. i waited until the last minute. late yesterday afternoon. at the brightest time of day, my house has horrible lighting. i spend a while tossing a few feathers and then jumping back to try to catch them mid air. i’m pretty tickled with the result.
nic’s image on the left. mine on the right. hopefully next week i’ll be able to add at least one new person’s image. hop over to nic’s blog to check out her post here.

next week’s theme is stripes.
