rehearsal dinners do not always warrant their own post. Carter and Patrick’s is an exception. they gathered with close and out of town friends and family for a rehearsal dinner and welcome party at The Olde Farm in Bristol the evening before their wedding. the surroundings were beautiful. the evening was full of love, celebrating, dancing, and fabulous toasts. Carter’s twin sister Warner definitely takes the prize for the best toast ever. she even had me laughing and crying. and dancing…did i mention dancing? this is a dancing crowd. but with Folk Soul Revival playing, who could blame them. a little preview of the night…

Tuesday, May 14th, 2013Kara and i go way back. we went to high school and worked together many many years ago in a little coffee shop in town. pre-husbands and pre-families (well, not pre-Ayden…as i was a youngin when i had him). she was always one of the coolest girls. so funny and kind and down to earth. it’s good to reconnect with old friends. to meet their families and experience their happiness. to see them living the life that you always hoped for them. because they deserved a life nothing less than completely full of love.
the beautiful Betancourt girls
Monday, April 29th, 2013Gabriella is such a great big sister and full of ideas. Ava is just the sweetest little thing. unfortunately we ran into Gabriella’s lunch time and Ava’s nap time or i totally could have hung out longer. so, i left with a bit of baby fever and an azalea sprig to wear behind my ear. it was a good morning.

Monday, December 10th, 2012Patty & David. all the way from Cali
Wednesday, December 5th, 2012Patty (sister of my dear friend Jenniraye) and David were in town last month to spend Thanksgiving with the family. they hadn’t had professional photos done since their wedding…ten years ago! that’s way too long. so after Jenniraye’s session we took a few minutes before the sun finished setting to take a few. these two are so sweet. obviously so in love.
these guys…so much fun
Tuesday, December 4th, 2012i can honestly say that this is the first family i’ve had to attempt to reel back in. i try my hardest at sessions to capture moments and feeling and love. and a few portraits. this family was so much fun and so full of laughter that i never had to say “ok, you guys don’t all have to look at the camera”. it was like i wasn’t there. and it was fabulous.
sometimes it’s hard being the littlest…
Clayton & Dovie
Tuesday, November 27th, 2012about a year ago i photographed a wedding at Jimmie Lynn’s amazing home. this is a house that i have driven past and wondered about since i was little. never thinking that i would one day be in it and that the owner would become my friend:)
so these two little guys, from the time we spent together are pretty much polar opposites. Dovie is so sweet and calm. she will just sit and smile at you. she is like a little baby doll. big brother Clayton is very sweet, but not calm! that child barely sat still during our session. thank goodness for the house’s bountiful light or he would have been a blur in most of the images. they are no doubt two of the cutest stinkin’ kids i’ve had the pleasure to photograph.
